2024: A Year of Firsts, Big Wins, and Exciting Programs Ahead!

As 2024 comes to a close, we’re reflecting on an incredible first year at For the Love of Dogs Academy. From laying our foundations to launching new opportunities, none of this would be possible without you—our amazing pack of supporters!
2024 Highlights
🎉 We’re Official! We became a registered charity, marking the beginning of our mission to celebrate the human-animal bond and create real opportunities for connection, growth, and learning.
🌐 Our Digital LaunchWe launched our website and social media accounts to connect with dog lovers, partners, and supporters across the community. Visit us at loveofdogs.org.au
🐾 Shaping Our IdentityWe designed a new logo that is both accessible and visually playful, reflecting who we are as an inclusive, dog-loving community while celebrating connection and joy through the human-animal bond.
📚 Creating ResourcesWe developed brochures, business cards, and fun merch (including T-shirts and dog bandanas) to spread the word about our mission and help grow our pack.
📸 Our First Event – Photos with Santa PawsWe kicked things off with our first community event, Photos with Santa Paws. It brought festive cheer, wagging tails, and an opportunity to introduce ourselves to the community. See adorable doggy photos and a video of the day up on our website.
✨ Responding to Demand – Our Taster ProgramWe heard from our community that you couldn’t wait to get started—so we launched our taster program! This short-term initiative gives participants hands-on experiences in:
🏥 Vet clinics
🐕 Dog training
🦴 Dog walking/sitting
🛁 Dog grooming
It’s been the pawfect way to give people a head start in exploring careers in the animal care sector while also providing us with valuable learnings about what works (and what doesn’t) before officially launching our programs in 2025.
🏠 Our Short-Term Hub in BelroseThanks to our major supporter The Vet’s North, we’re excited to have secured a temporary space in Belrose, which will act as our hub while we continue the search for our forever home—a place where our programs, partnerships, and community can thrive.
🤝 Building Strong PartnershipsWe’re proud to have connected with:
Disability organisations like Jigsaw, The Avenue, CM Care, Uniting, The Benevolent Society, Co-Hive, The Cerebral Palsy Alliance, Vinnies, and many more.
Community organisations, including TAFE NSW, Northern Beaches Council, local schools, and animal care providers such as vet clinics, doggy day care, and grooming salons.

To celebrate the holidays, we’re sharing something just for you and your furry friends!
🎄 Festive Dog Treat RecipePeanut Butter & Pumpkin Biscuits
1 cup pumpkin puree
1/2 cup natural peanut butter (xylitol-free)
2 cups oat flour
1 egg
Mix the ingredients, roll out, and cut into shapes. Bake at 160°C (320°F) for 20-25 minutes. Let cool and serve to your favorite pup!
✨ Holiday Tips for Your Dogs
Keep your dog away from chocolate, cooked bones, and rich human foods.
Create a safe, quiet space for your dog if visitors come over.
Don’t forget festive walks—your pup will love the extra time outdoors!
