Our Story
At For the Love of Dogs Academy, our mission is simple, to create meaningful opportunities for people living with disabilities to spend more time with dogs. We run programs from casual social visits to formal animal handling training. These programs are designed to help participants build confidence, learn new skills, and explore pathways to employment in the animal care sector. All while benefiting from the physical, mental and social health benefits of spending time with dogs.

In 2025, we took an exciting step forward by expanding into dog care services through making the existing business, Canine Kindergarten, part of For the Love of Dogs Academy. This site will offer doggy daycare, grooming, and training services to the local community, and also opens the door for participants in our programs to gain hands-on experience in a real working environment.
