People Programs Team

Our People Programs Team is all about bringing people and dogs together to create something special. They are the friendly faces guiding our participants through every breakthrough, using the magic of the human-canine bond to build real-world skills and newfound confidence.

Each team member brings a mix of professional know-how and a big heart for helping others. You’ll find them right in the thick of it - cheering on our participants as they master a new skill or providing a supportive ear while the dogs play nearby. With a relaxed, patient approach and a genuine love for what they do, they create a space where both our humans and hounds can truly thrive together.

Anna Dengate

Founder

I am a small animal internal medicine specialist vet, with a love of the holistic human - social - animal bond. Over the years, I've seen people whose health has been dramatically improved by having pets; but also been acutely aware that many of our community members who could use the health benefits can't own their own pets for financial, housing, or logistical reasons.

My “why” is to provide opportunities for all of our community, particularly those who are marginalised or disadvantaged, to benefit from the healing power of dogs, and if we can combine this with economic empowerment, even better!

Taine Carter

Community Engagement Lead

I began working in the disability industry in 2018, and from the very beginning I knew this was where I was meant to be. Supporting individuals with disability isn’t just my career — it’s my passion.

I am deeply committed to creating opportunities for every individual I work with to thrive, grow, and achieve their personal goals. I strongly believe that with the right support, environment, and encouragement, everyone has the ability to build confidence, develop valuable skills, and create a meaningful and fulfilling life.

A key focus of my work is helping individuals develop practical, transferable skills that apply to the workforce. I strive to create real opportunities for participants to build communication skills, responsibility, teamwork, confidence, and independence — skills that not only support everyday life but also open doors to future employment pathways.

As Community Engagement Lead, I focus on building strong, genuine relationships with participants, families, and the wider community. I take the time to understand each person’s strengths, interests, and aspirations so we can create pathways that promote independence, capability, and self-belief.

For me, this work is about more than support — it’s about empowerment, inclusion, and giving every individual the opportunity to reach their full potential.
