About Us
At For the Love of Dogs Academy, our mission is simple, to create meaningful opportunities for people living with disability to spend more time with dogs. We are developing unique programs that offer different levels of engagement, from casual social visits to formal animal handling training. These programs are designed to help participants build confidence, learn new skills, and explore pathways to employment in the animal care sector. All while enjoying the companionship of our four-legged friends and connecting with other dog-loving humans.

In 2025, we took an exciting step forward by expanding into dog care services through making the existing business, Canine Kindergarten, part of For the Love of Dogs Academy, now called our Canine Care services. This site offers doggy daycare, grooming, and training services to the local community, and also opens the door for participants in our programs to gain hands-on experience in a real working environment.

It’s more than just cuddles and dog walks (though there’s plenty of that too). It’s about inclusion, confidence-building, and providing space for people and pups to grow together.
